I. EVENT INFORMATION
Race Date: Sunday 10 December, 2017
Race Events: Marathon (42.195KM), Half Marathon (21.0975KM)

II. ENTRY ELIGIBILITY
(I) AGE REQUIREMENTS
1. For Marathon, participants shall be at least 20 years old (born before December 31, 1997).
2. For Half Marathon, participants shall be at least 18 years (born before December 31, 1999).
* The runners should meet the above requirements and register the event with their valid ID.
(II) PHYSICAL CONDITION REQUIREMENTS
Marathon running is an athletic sport of high intensity and great demand of endurance over a long distance which involves a degree of risk. As it raises high demand on the physical condition, participants are expected to have good health and some running or training experience.
In Guangzhou, participants may choose from Marathon, and Half Marathon according to their own physical conditions and actual abilities.
Participants with following symptoms are not suggested taking part in the events:
1. Congenital heart disease and rheumatic heart disease;
2. Hyper tension and cardio-vascular disease;
3. Myocarditis and other heart diseases;
4. Coronary artery disease and serious cardiac arrhythmia;
5. Hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia diabetics;
6. Patients of catching a cold within two weeks before the competition date;
8. Patients of other diseases unfit for sports.
All participants shall be liable for personal injury and property loss caused by personal health condition or other personal reasons during the event. Before the entry, participants are required to have physical check-up (including electrocardiographic examination) in qualified medical institutions, and make a self-evaluation to confirm if the physical condition is suitable for the event of their choice.
Note: The condition of the race course and the set-up of Water & Sponge Stations, Toilets and other facilities are not suitable for the people with wheelchairs, baby carriages, roller skates and other technical aids to be involved in the events. To fully guarantee your safety, the Organizing Committee reserves the rights to turn down the application of the above applicants.
(III) ENTRY QUOTA
The overall maximum number of participants for all race events is 30,000. For Marathon, the quota is limited to 18,000, and for Half Marathon, it is 12,000.
(IV) QUALIFICATIONS FOR MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON
The runners should meet the above requirements and register for the event with their valid ID.
All runners must have the experience of finishing a half-marathon (21.0975Km) or more. Finisher certificates or relevant proofs of these experiences will be examined by the staff who are responsible for distributing the race articles. Runners shall be solely responsible for the authenticity of these documents.
Participants may choose from Marathon, and Half Marathon according to their own physical conditions and actual abilities. Marathon applicants shall not register the Half Marathon event even if they do not gain participation from the draw. The Organizing Committee reserves the rights to disqualify anyone who disregards this rule without refund of registration fee.
III. ENTRY INFORMATION
(I) ENTRY METHOD
Individual application can be made in www.guangzhou-marathon.com. Team application is not accepted. Each participant can only entry one event from Marathon and Half Marathon.
All applicants shall read and consent to the Participant Declaration, Log-in Instruction, Registration Instruction, and Possible Risks before filling out and submit the online application form.
Athletes, registered with the CAA, shall make their entries through the website of CAA.
The entry will be divided into two stages.
The first stage: entry for Marathon
1. Online Registration
The system opens to all applicants at 15:00 (GMT+8) on Friday 30 June and closes at 17:00 (GMT+8) on Sunday 30 July. Applicants can log in the www.guangzhou-marathon.com to fill out and submit the online application form. If the number of applicants exceeds the maximum of the entry quota, the eligibility will be decided by draw.
2. Results of Draw and Entry Fees
The results of the draw will be showed in the Runners Center in www.guangzhou-marathon.com at 10:00 on Tuesday 9 August. Payment system will then be opened to those eligible to the event from 10:00 (GMT+8) on Tuesday 9 August to 17:00 (GMT+8) Sunday 20 August. The eligible participants shall pay the entry fee to complete registration before the payment system closed. Otherwise, their entries will be cancelled automatically. Applicants will be responsible for the processing fee and any other fees during the payment processing.
The second stage: entry for Half Marathon
1. Online Registration
The system opens to all applicants at 10:00 (GMT+8) on Tuesday 22 August and closes at 17:00 (GMT+8) on Monday 18 September. Applicants can log in the www.guangzhou-marathon.com to fill out and submit the online application form. If the number of applicants exceeds the maximum of the entry quota, the eligibility will be decided by draw.
2. Results of Draw and Entry Fees
The results of the draw will be showed in the Runners Center in www.guangzhou-marathon.com on Wednesday 27 September. Payment system will then be opened to those eligible to the event from 10:00 (GMT+8) on Wednesday 27 September to 17:00 (GMT+8) Tuesday 10 October. The eligible participants shall pay the entry fee to complete registration before the payment system closed. Otherwise, their entries will be cancelled automatically. Applicants will be responsible for the processing fee and any other fees during the payment processing.
(III) ENTRY FEES
If the number of applicants exceeds the maximum of the entry quota, the eligibility will be decided by draw.
(IV) ENTRY FEES
1. Chinese applicants (including applicants from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan):
Marathon or Half Marathon: 120 RMB / Person;
2. Foreign applicants: Marathon or Half Marathon:
50 USD / Person;
3. The entry will be completed by successfully paying for entry fees online. Once the payment goes through, the registration fee will not be refunded.
IV. ENTRY PROCEDURES
Step 1: Log in the www.guangzhou-marathon.com;
Step 2: Read and consent to relevant documents, including Registration Instruction, Participants’ Declaration, etc.
Step 3: Fill out and submit the online application forms;
Step 3: Wait for the draw result. Check it in the Runners Center when the result is out;
Step 4: Make the online payment of the entry fee;
Step 5: Check the bib number on or after Wednesday 25 October in the www.guangzhou-marathon.com. Download and print the Registration Letter.
1. The applicants are solely responsible for the authenticity of entry information to ensure that Organizing Committee could deliver the participation tips and event information to the runners accurately and timely.
2. Applicants shall fully consent to the rule and result of draw.
3. Any promotional material (except for official sponsors’ goods), including but not limited to flags, scrolls, balloons, models, etc., are strictly prohibited throughout the event. Anyone who disregards this rule will be disqualified and removed from the event.

VI. DIRECT ACCEPTANCE
(I) Loyal Runners: Runners who have participated in any race events of Guangzhou Marathon for FIVE CONSECUTIVE YEARS (from 2012-2016) will be accepted directly to enter the GAC-TOYOTA·2017 Guangzhou Marathon.
(II) Elite Runners: Runners who reached below qualified time in any edition of Guangzhou Marathon from 2012-2016 will be accepted directly to enter the GAC-TOYOTA·2017 Guangzhou Marathon.
Marathon: Males (including and within 3:30:00), Females (including and within 3:50:00);
Half-Marathon: Males (including and within 1:30:00), Females (including and within 1:50:00).
VII. BIB NUMBERS
Bib numbers could be checked on or after Wednesday 25 October in the www.guangzhou-marathon.com. Runners could download and print the Registration Letter by this time.
VIII. RACE ARTICLES
(I) Runners shall pick up their Race Articles (including bibs, timing chips, Participants Guide, etc.) at the designated place three days before the race. For more details, please refer to Race Articles Pick-up Guide and announcements from the official website.
(II) All runners shall pick up their Race Articles in person with their Registration Confirmation Letters, ID and Participants Declaration signed by runners themselves. Race articles are strictly forbidden to be picked up by others. Additionally, runners should provide Finisher Certificates of past Half Marathon or Marathon events or their photocopies (one piece) for verification. Runners shall be solely responsible for the validity and authenticity of these documents.
(III) The Organizing Committee reserves the rights to disqualify anyone who disregards any rule of the event or provides counterfeit certificates. In this case, entry fee will not be refunded.
The Organizing Committee will cover all Marathon participants and staff members with Personnel Accident Insurance.
